Meanwhile, I tried out a lot of 3rd party applications, and the only two I found that offered the dual-monitor to dual-monitor setup are Splashtop ($99 USD/year) and the latest beta of Jump Desktop ($35 USD/one-time). I have made a feature request to Apple for them to add the functionality.
Is there a MacOS equivalent?Īfter much searching, trials, and disappointment I have concluded that this is not possible with the Apple Screen Sharing options that come stock. Is this achievable with the MacOS Screen Share that comes in the system? Why has Apple made such a simple thing so convoluted? Microsoft RDP is absolutely perfect. Ultimately, I wish to be able to connect from the client to the server, and have each client monitor correspond to a monitor on the server. Given that I have dual monitors on my client, the whole point of my initial post is to be able to leverage those monitors to be used remotely. That is to say, when connecting from the client to the host, the Screen Share window will only display one screen at a time, or a squished version of both screens in one window. I am now faced with an entirely different problem it seems to me that there is no intuitive way to allow your dual monitors to be used properly in the client. Since my last post, I have ordered and received the display emulators.
